Department of Spanish and Italian Languages

Department of Spanish and Italian languages of the Centre of European and Asian languages was founded in February 2021 based on the Centre of Pedagogical Profciency.

The Department realizes research, educational and methodical projects; devises tutorial materials, educational aids, programs, and innovative methods in the field of teaching Spanish and Italian languages, implements up-to-date informational and communicational technologies in the studying process.

The core aim of the Department is teaching of Spanish and Italian languages in order to prepare student for the entrance exams in Russian and international universities, for the state and international competitions and olympiads.

Besides main educational program, the Department usually holds pedagogical workshops, demonstration lessons of Spanish and Italian languages, webinars in the field of the latest studies in pedagogical science.

The department provides studying of the cultural heritage of European countries and organizes scientific-educational events, dedicated to the celebration of international and Spanish and Italian holidays.

Centre of European and Asian languages cooperates with the Cervantes Institute and Edelsa, publishing house of educational literature. Together with their partners, the Department usually holds collaborative events and learning-training camps for the students.

In 2007 Ekaterina graduated with honors from the Faculty of Philology of Lomonosov Moscow State University majoring in “Philologist. Teacher of Spanish language and foreign literature”.

During her education, in 2006 Ekaterina also took an internship at the Faculty of Philology, History and Geography at the University of the Basque Country (Universidad del País Vasco, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain).

In 2007 Ekaterina graduated with honors from the Faculty of Philology of Lomonosov Moscow State University majoring in “Philologist. Teacher of Spanish language and foreign literature”.

During her education, in 2006 Ekaterina also took an internship at the Faculty of Philology, History and Geography at the University of the Basque Country (Universidad del País Vasco, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain).

Besides, she has attended a lot of additional qualification courses, among them such as: in 2016 – Teaching of the Spanish language using communicative-gaming technique developed by Valeria Meshcheryakova (adapted for Spanish by Elena Prikaznova); in 2021 – “Abriendo los oídos” – a seminar for teachers about rules of listening during classes by Susanna Martin Leralta. Moreover, on 2017 Ekaterina also received a DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) diploma of the Cervantes University, degree C1.

Ekaterina has a huge practical experience in translational activity. From 2008 to 2010 she was working in the field of vending-business, where she used both consecutive and simultaneous translation during negotiations, written translation of contracts and operating instructions in the field of commercial documentation. 

During 2012-2015 Ekaterina attended technical exhibition Aquatherm, where she worked as interpreter during the negotiations of the management of major companies (including representation of the Mirea Martin Roman’s interests from из Industrial Disflex Ibérica, s.l. Company) and their partners and contractors.

Ekaterina is among most well-experienced teachers of the Centre, her scientifical and pedagogical record of work is more than 15 years. She worked at such educational organizations as Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, School Bacalavre, School #17 in Tomilino. From 2017 she also serves as the Head of the Department at the Espalabra, school of Spanish language and culture, which teaches Spanish and prepares children and school students aged 4-18 for entrance exams.
